Password Protect Start Up

I have four children and want to restrict them from using the home pc.
Ideally, I want to be the admin, enable each of them access to the internet,
word and excell, allow them each to set up their own folders and most
importantly, restrict them from accessing my data. I would appreciate
someone getting back to me with some fairly simple instructions on how to do
this.....thanks in advance.

Repost and ask about "user accounts" and how to set them up to be inaccessible to others. Hint - use a password protected account.
