Password protecting a link

R

Russ

Hello,

I am a novice webmaster for a small computing company. I am updating the
company website and the owner wants to password protect a page that shows
reseller costs. I wanted to know if there was some HTML code I could add that
would bring up a login and password prompt when the hyperlink is selected.
Then when the link is clicked the user can enter in a predefined login and
password and view the page that has the reseller information. Any assistance
is GREATLY appreicated.

Russ,
If you are using a hosting service for your site, check to see if they
have this capability.

For example, with Comcast Broadband there is a web page form to fill out
by the site owner with the specific URL/directory plus the access
information. After that, any user access to that URL/directory required
the user to go through a login/password dialog. Multiple
URL's/directories could be protected each with unique access. No
additional web page coding was necessary.
