Paste as Icon Error

I hope someone out there can help. I have Office 2003, and when I try to
paste a word 2003 file into a PowerPoint 2003 file as an icon I get the
following error:
The Server application, source file, or item can't be found, or returned an
unknown error. You may need to reinstall the server application."
I am doing the following things:
Insert Object, browsing for a file, and then checking the display as icon
box in the dialog box. Doing the same thing for Excel files works OK.
What could the problem be?

Odd. Are you using Norton Antivirus?

Hm. Usually these errors happen when you're trying to edit an object that's
already embedded. (
http://support.microsoft.com/search...dt=0&comm=1&ast=1&ast=2&ast=3&mode=a&x=4&y=11
shows that also.) You might try disabling Sophos and see if that helps.

Maybe try reregistering Word, then. See Can't edit Org Chart, Graph, Excel
(error msg: "server application, source file, or item can't be found")
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00236.htm for some ideas.

Oh, do you have SP-1 for Office 2003 installed? Go to Help/Check for Updates
to install it.
