Pausing/Suspending a Project

Using Pro2002/Project Server. I run a 10 day project date
and occasionally the project will get put on hold for a
couple of days. What is the appropriate method for
suspending all future work on that project for a day or
two? Thank you.

Let's assume that your project is underway, but it has now been postponed
for a few days and won't resume until Wednesday, August 13. To reflect this
in the project, do the following:

1. Click Tools - Tracking - Update Project...
2. Select the "Reschedule uncompleted work to start after" option and set
this value to day BEFORE WHICH work will resume (in this case, August 12)
3. Select the "All tasks" option and then click OK

Project 2002 will reschedule all unstarted tasks in your plan using a Start
No Earlier Than constraint. Project 2002 will reschedule all tasks that
have started but have not yet finished by splitting the portion of the task
that contains remaining work, with the remaining portion scheduled to begin
the date that the project is scheduled to resume. Be careful to note that
any tasks with inflexible (hard) constraints such as FNLT or MFO will not be
rescheduled. Project 2002 will warn you and ask you to reschedule those
tasks yourself. Hope this helps.
