Performance Problems with Multiple DataConnections

Dear Experts,

My developers have built a Robust Procurement Solution based on Infopath
using SharePoint 2007 Infopath Forms Services. It so happens that all the
forms use extensive DataConnections/Datasources to a Custom SQL Database to
store data using WebServices.

The Problem is that when we click on New in the Form Library, the Forms
takes immense time(4-5 Sec) to Load by showing "Loading Form". This is
because there are many dataconnections(around 40-50). We are facing
performance problems if simultaneously there are 5 people using the form and
the organization has around 50 people using it all at once. At times the
system also freezes and hence we need to wait for a while or do an iisreset.
This is getting more frequent & irritating.

There are two servers 1 MOSS and other SQL. The Servers are all Quad Core
with 4GB Ram each. Single Site Collection and there is no traffic on the
server as of now since this is yet a test environment. Imagine we go live -
it will be pathetic.

Can someone tell me how to speed up loading and increase the performance of
the forms. Do we need to tweak the code or used a performance query etc

Any inputs or solutions will be helpful.

Best Regards,
