Performances and Calendar

O

Oneness

Hello, friends.

I wish to make projects mainly with musicians, dancers and other resources
that will only be paid for the performance and not for 'hour'. Another
resource group will work also not for hour, like producers and assistants...
but for the whole project.

I also will have some standard workers, working on the 'Standard' calendar.

Would someone be so kind to suggest a way to managge this in project 2007??

Hello Oneness,

If I understand you correctly, you need to plan and track work for
resources with differing costs to your project -- some costs will
accrue on an hourly basis, but others (performers and others) will
accrue costs tied to specific events.

For those resources with a usual hourly rate, define them in the
Resource Sheet view with a standard hourly cost. As you assign those
resources to tasks and generate work, the costs will be calculated
based upon the work multiplied by the standard rate.

For the costs that are based on the actual performance event, you
could create cost resources (set the type to cost) and then on
assignment, enter the amount for that cost resource. The performers
(work resources) would have zero standard rate in the Resource Sheet
view but the costs for their work would be tracked through the cost
resource. This would allow you to create cost resources for each
performer or group of performers and get more detailed cost
information by resource. The other, less detailed, option would be to
use the Fixed Cost field and add the lump sum for the performance
resources against the performance event.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.
