Phantom Email Address Still Showing in Suggested Names

Running Outlook XP. I updated a record in the contacts folder to correct a
misspelling as well as updating to a new email address and when I type in
the the first name in the To: of a new email, the old one still shows and I
don't get the option to choose the correct one. If I type the name with the
middle initial with it, the correct one shows and not the old one.

How do I get rid of this phantom email address???

Hi

When the address that you dont want appears, simply hit the delete key. This
will remove it permanently from the history file.

Tried that 100 times and it does nothing. Any other ideas???
