Phone Calls from Outlook

I have Windows XP and Office 2003 with Biz Contact Manager.
I checked the following:
Telephone Line, Ok
Modem, working and detecting dial tone
Outlook Dialing feature, working - dials the number correctly - I hear the
modem working
Phone call rings on destination phone
Headset properly connected to SoundCard, tested both mic and headphones, Ok.

Problem: Once destination person answers the phone, I cannot hear or send
voice through my headset.
I would appreciate help from anyone who is familiar with this issue.
