Photos on a Webpage

In the past I used Word 97 to do my Webpage. Now I have Word 2003 and am
having problems getting photos to display when viewing on the Internet. I
have made sure the photos are on the server via ftp. When I view the page on
the Internet, the place holder is there, but no photo. What is different in
2003 concerning photos?
