Picture in Word

I notice that there has been some messages regarding the failure of a
picture to show in Word. The picture prints correctly and if the frame of
Word document is moved the picture will display but is 'lost' and replaced
by white space of the same size when one scrolls through the document.

I am using Word 2002 with XP Pro and the problem appears to be of recent
origin. The documents display correctly on the screens of other computers.

Has anybody got any suggestions as to how to overcome the problem? I have
removed and re-installed Office without any success.
