Picture Manager and bands of color.

Since a Picture Manager group doesn't seem to be an option, I've selected
Office General Questions. Hope this works. Question: With a good original
photo that is scanned into Picture Manager, the picture has color bands on
screen and when printed. What causes? How to correct? Thanks.
