PICTURES DONT SHOW IN POWERPOINT PREVIEW SLIDE

hi i have transferred a power point presintation from work to my pc the
presentation shows ok , burt when trying to modify or preview there are no
pictures showing, just the words, there is aslo no background picture
can anybody help
