Pictures loosing original color

When I insert a picture (jpeg image) into Publisher it looses it's original colors. It seems as though the color scheme feature is changing the image. I've removed the color scheme from my personal settings and the newsletter wizard - but still the image when imported does not retain it's original colors. How can this be corrected?

Publisher seems to handle colours differently to the rest of Windows, and so
you may see some difference between colours in some applications and colours
in Publisher
How are you importing your pictures?
What version of Windows/Publisher are you using?
Does this happen with all image filetypes or only JPG?
What colour is the page background and the scratch area?

I cannot understand how it possible can. There is no known issue of the
type you describe.

What version of Publisher are you using?
