Pie chart in WORD from Excel data in COLUMNS

Trying to create a PIE chart in a WORD document from EXCEL data which is in
Columns. The chart seems to default to data in rows (therby only picking up
the first data value and label and displaying it as 100% of the pie) and I
cannot set it to data series in COLUMNS (as you can when creating the chart
within Excel - on the Chart Type wizard).

Hi Maggie,

What version of Word and Excel are you using?

How are you putting the data into Word?
(For example if you start a new chart in
Word you can paste the data from Excel into
the datatable for that chart in Word).

If you use Insert=>Picture=>Chart
do you get the 'Series in Columns' choice in the
Data menu?
