Please Help Error with Outlook

J

Joshua Edwards

Just installed Office XP on a new PC. I try to run Outlook and it comes up
with an error of "Unable to open your default e-mail folders. Could not open
the item. Try again." Any Ideas?

Did you configure your mail profile correctly under Control Panel->mail
icon? Did you test your account settings to ensure that they are correct?
If yes, can you try to configure a new mail profile and see if that helps?
Often, upgrading a previous installation of Outlook will cause corrupt
profiles as some of the settings in Outlook 2003 do not exist in versions
prior to 2002.

Do NOT hijack a thread. Your circumstances could be different for your
error message and does not add to the conversation about the OPs problem.

If you need assistance, start a new thread and explain your configuration,
what you have already tried and the exact error messages you are getting.
