Here's my current environment:
Standalone Pentium 4 PC running
Windows XP Professional, SP 1
IIS 5.1
Office 2003 Pro (with Access)SP1
Front Page 2000

I have started to develop my first web application using
ASP pages. The planned application will query and update
an Access database. It will eventually be migrated to an
intranet web server.
But for initial development and testing purposes, I need
to learn how to configure this standalone environment.
And troubleshoot common errors.
This will not be the only application I want to build.
So can you refer me to a source that might guide me
through the set up and configuration?

And yes, I know, go to school. That will will happen when
time and funds allow. :)

Any references or information is appreciated.
Thanks much.

I don't use Windows XP Pro but usually Windows will guide
you through the setup of these sorts of things (similar
to the Internet Connection Wizard).

Another alternate would be to contact your local server
guru (as you say you are developing for an intranet &
that means you work for a company and support should be
available to you) and have them help you.
