please help (Two problems)!

Gary Strasdin

I've used Microsoft for several years and hav become
quite proficient, however I'm currently having two
different problems I can not seem to solve.

The first is a message I get everytime I launch
Word: "This file contains macros with an expired or
revoked signature. Since you are running under High
Security Level, these macros will be disabled." ???? What
the heck?

The second problem is a formatting issue. Whenever I want
to change the style of a piece of text, Word
automatically applies the new style to ALL of the text in
my document. I always have to click undo to undo the
changes that Word has made. I've looked through all of
the options, autoformat, even auto correct. I can't seem
to disable this 'feature'

Please help, anyone!

The first problem is most likely caused by an add-in of some kind. You
probably want Word set to Medium security, anyway (Tools | Macro |
Security), which will give you the option of enabling the macros or not (and
at least give you more information about where the macros are coming from),
but you'll very likely find that the macros are in an add-in that doesn't
play nicely with the current version of Word and therefore needs to be
removed anyway.

As for the second problem, see

If you are certain of the antecedents of your add-ins and templates, you can
set the security to trust all installed templates and add-ins. Templates
add-ins and documents (with macros) that are not installed will throw up the
macro warning still.
