Please wait while Microsoft Outlook Exits

Greg Workman

This message appears everytime I close Outlook 2000 on a
W2K machine connecting through a VPN to a W2K server
ultimately to a W2K Exchange Server.

I've installed every patch MS has to offer...what else to
do? This problem did not exist using POP3. It just
started after adding an Exchange account. Is it something
on the server (which I administrate) or on the client?

Close (and force quit) Outlook.
Then, go to Start Menu -> Run... and type "outlook /cleanfreebusy"
(without the quotes)

Now, it should close okay

Thanks for the tip! It worked after I entered the path to outlook. It
must not be in my search path.

From the run box, I entered "c:\program files\microsoft
office\office\outlook.exe /cleanfreebusy"

It launched Outlook. I exited Outlook and the "Waiting for Outlook to
exit" box is gone...

Thanks a $1,000,000.99
