Portfolio Analyzer-set of projects

Darek

Hi,

I work with Project Server 2003.
I can't solve one thing.

What I want to do is one of the executives was able to see
projects coming ONLY from his departament (I made a
specific category for that departament, added the
executive to it, then I created a portfolio analyzer view
and added it to that category).
But he STILL can see ALL projects form project server.

However when he goes to Project Center page he can see
projects he should see, so there is a problem with
portfolio analyser.

Is there any solution ?
I really appreciate your help. Thanks.

Is the executive still included in the Executives group? If so, being a
member of this Group would give him/her blanket access to everything in the
system. You may wish to remove this one executive from any of the Groups to
which he belongs, then set the Permissions and Global Permissions for
him/her using the Executives template. It sounds like you have already
added this executive to the new custom Category you created. Let me know if
this helps.

No, the executive is added only to the custom group I
created for him. I also created custom category in which I
gave him access ONLY to three projects (for testing). I
think all the group and category permissions are correct.
When he goes to Project Center he can see only these three
projects and it is how it should be. Still, when he goes to
portfolio analyser he can see ALL projects but I want he
could see ONLY these three ones. Can it be done ?

Dale, thanks for your answer and help.

Aren't you already restricting the data in the custom Portfolio Analyzer
view to only those three projects? You can do this by completing the
following steps:

1. Open the custom Portfolio Analyzer view for editing
2. Drag the Projects dimension to the Filter Fields drop area
3. Click the Projects drop-down arrow
4. From the list of projects in the drop-down, select only those three and
then click OK
5. Click the Save Changes button

From this point forward, the Portfolio Analyzer view will show data only for
the three projects. Hope this helps.

You are right, I can do it, but the executive can click
back the project drop-down arrow and select the project he
wants, doesn't he ?
How to make so that he couldn't select other projects from
the drop-down list ?

thanks for your help,
Darek

I know of no way to prevent the executive from seeing the list of the
projects in the portfolio, other than making this a training issue. Sorry.
