post card mail merge print

K

kay

When I try to print my mail merged postcards, only 2 cards
print (two 4x4 cards), then the print locks up and stops.
Publisher locks up and I have to exit out (and send error
report to MS). This makes it difficult to print a 350
mail list!

What is the data source for the mail merge info? Creating a .csv file from
the data source and using that is generally the most successful way of doing
a mail merge.

The data source is a word doc. My problem is not the mail
merge but the printing of the merged postcard.

I just remembered that I have used both an Access file and
a word file as my data source for mail merge in Publisher.

Kay firstly you don't say what version of Publisher you are using which is
mighty important to fix your problem.

What I think you will find you need to do is to print in batches.

For example print range:
1 to 10
11 to 20
21 to 30

Now depending on the content of your cards, you may be able to go:
1 to 20
21 to 40
41 to 60
now if that does not work, try 1 to 15, 16 to 30 etc. etc.

I am pretty sure that will fix your problem.

NO, there is no workaround but to do it this way. However, it will work as
I don't tell lies like that filth scumbag georgewbush.

I have used 2000 and 2003 and I already knew I could only
print in batches of only 8 at a time. with over 300 names
in the list, it is going to take awhile.

I have tried both windows xp home, pub 2000 and xp pro,
pub xp. What are MDAC componets? how do I refresh them?
I just viewed the link and became throughly confused.
That information is over my head. Thanks anyway.

NO NO NO, not 8 cards to a time, that is 10, 15 or 20 pages of 8 at a time.
