I have xp pro + office xp pro installed.
word works ok, however powerpoint crashs after
configuration of slide.

Can you explain exactly what you mean by "configuration of slide"?

In addition to Steve's request for clarification of "configuration of
slide," do you get any error messages when PPT crashes?
