I am trying to print out a powerpoint 2002 presentation and it does not print
the background/template over which it was prepared. Other than that, all of
the content is there (on a white vackground)

is it a black and white printer?

is the background / template on the slide master?
can you select the image?
if you cannot select it, then it was probably added using the "format >
background > fill effects > picture", if that's the case, then it's by
design that it does not print :(

Most b/w printers allow to use "color" printing and output a greyscale slide
then. Try this option in the print dialog box, it should allow printing
your background as it would on a color printer.

Kind regards,

We're currently using an Epson large format 9600 printer with a Fiery RIP.
We've always been able to print Powerpoint files without mishap but now any
file over A1 size loses it's background (less than that size they print ok.
Even with this 'new' equipment we were able to print up to A0 prints from
Powerpoint files, including the background until recently.
