powerpoint 2003 using network shared drive

I am trying to use powerpoint 2003 on a windows XP machine. The problem I
seem to have is when I try to save a file to a network shared drive on a
windows server 2003. It seems to cause problem because of a permissions
issuse. At the moment the users are setup to have all rights to the folder
except for modify and full onwership.
It seems that without the modify permission enabled when they tried to save
the file it says it already exists and would you like to overwrite it. But
obviously I have named the file something unique to make sure. Well with the
permission set how they are if you say yes to overwite it will then tell you
its read-only because of the not having modify permission.

My question is if anyone knows a workaround for this that will not make the
permissions have to change. I am wondering if one of the office updates had
a solutions for this.

Thanks for the help
