PowerPoint 2003/Windows XP

When trying to open pp attachment, get message saying cannot location
application for this task. I have pp listed in my programs. What is wrong?

Open PowerPoint, then fro the File Open, select your attachment, and see if
you can open it that way.

What Michael said and...

Open PowerPoint and go to the Help menu and choose Check for Updates.
Follow the instructions to apply all patches (especially Service Pack 1
and/or 2).
