Powerpoint 2007 linking sounds

M

Martin

When trying to add a linked piece of music, in MP3 format, PPT 2007 does not
play sound in many cases. If the MP3 file is taken from it's source folder it
usually plays fine, but if it is copied and placed in the same folder as the
PPt file, it fails to play (with sound, though the track appears to be
playing silently!).

I do not wish to add WAV files due to the size, any suggestions on this
would be very welcome.

Thanks.

Please check the path length, pathname plus filename should not be longer
than 128 characters. If presentation and linked sound are already in the
same folder, move them both to C:\Test (or another folder with a short name)
and try again.

Best regards,

I am having this exact same problem. I have my sound files in the same folder
as my powerpoint, but they won't play when I link to them. Did you ever
figure out a solution or did you give up and convert everything to WAV files?
