Powerpoint 97 running on MS2000-Error Message when adjusting Fonts

When I try to adjust font sizes in PP 97 I get an error
message that says owerpoint has found an error it acn
not correct, please close and restart.

What is going on? I tried to reload PP97 but no good. It
happens on all prersentations.

HELP!!!
