Powerpoint does not start - no error, just nothing. Ideas?

We have instaled Microsoft Office 2000 Professional.
We have installed all updates from the Microsoft update page.
All modules work EXCEPT for Powerpoint which simply does nothing.
When attempting to open a PPT file, I get no error message.
When attempting to open the PowerPoint program, nothing happens.
No error message. Just nothing.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried inserting the CDs and doing a repair?

I'd start by deleting the *.PCB file(s). That's the PPT toolbar, and PPT
will recreate it the next time it opens.

If that doesn't work, then try searching for and renaming any *.PPA files.
These are PPT add-ins. If PPT starts, you can rename the files back to *.PPA
to isolate the problem add-in.
