powerpoint not under programs

I have the powerpoint icon listed on my desktop but when I look for
powerpoint under programs it is not listed. Is there a way to get it from
Start, Programs. I am not very technical so please could someone assist me.

Why don't you right click on the PowerPoint icon on your desktop, then select
the properties option. that will tell you where the program is located.

Take the icon on your desktop and drag it to your Start menu. Your start
menu should open. Don't let go of the mouse button. Then drag it to the
Programs selection which should open and drag it to any location you
choose in that menu. Then let go of the mouse button. That should take
care of it.
