How do you have your powerpoint presentation go through a projector but still
stay on your computer screen at he same time?

sciencechick,

are you going to be using a laptop or a desktop computer ?

The display on a laptop generally stays on while you are connected to a
projector (or you press a magic key combination - like Fn-F4 or something)
to toggle between

laptop only - project only - both screens.

For desktops.... you can run a cable to a projector from your PC... then
another cable from the projector to your monitor....

or you can buy a y-split cable to convert your 1 output to 2 cables (1 to
projector, 1 to your local monitor)

or you can go the 'pro' way, and purchase a magic box that splits the signal
(and keeps the signal strong)..... these sort of things
