PowerPoint slide scrolling

One of the slides in my presentation bumps up a few times instead of changing
to the next slide with each click of the mouse wheel. How do I get rid of
this?

The mouse wheel is showing you a lower view because there is at least one
object off the slide. I would use the Ctl + A command to select everything
on the slide. This will let you see at least the outline of what is outside
the edge of the slide.
