Powerpoint won't respond, haven't saved yet!

I clicked on "clipart" in powerpoint while creating (I have Vista) and
everything froze. I'm not getting the "not responding" message on task
manager, so have no idea what to do. I hadn't saved yet, and have no idea if
I have auto-save set up. I did set it for Word, but that only sets it for
that application, right? Is there anything I can do before hitting "end
task" in task manager to save or be sure to recover my document? This is a
pretty involved powerpoint that I'd like to recover!!! Thanks for your quick
help!

Ok, I got tired of waiting and closed powerpoint (same thing happened with
Word - it was an issue with clipart). After I hit "end task" it did say Not
responding and recovered my document.
