Where/how do I find the excel icon to paste onto a powerpoint sheet? I don't
need/want it as a link. Just for presentational purposes.

Best thing to do would be to take a screenshot of your screen( PrntScreen
button on your keyboard), paste it in an editing program (you can even use
paint if you want). Then cut it out, copy, paste in PowerPoint.
If the Excel icon is in your quick access toolbar in the windows taskbar, or
even on your desktop as an icon, you can take the screenshot there, then cut
it, paste in an graphical editing program...
If you have a program like SnagIt it will be easy to cut out just the icon,
as SnagIt has the ability to select any object on the screen.
