Janet

Can I design a background in PowerPoint and export it to
be used as a background for word documents? If so, how.
Using Office 97

Thanks

Hi Janet,

Look here:
Export slides as graphics
http://www.rdpslides.com/pptfaq/FAQ00022.htm
Set up your show as Portrait for best results for a Word
document.

Once you've exported your slide, you can add it as the
background in Word, but background can be misleading in a
word document. If what you want is the full image on each
document page, the best method is to do the following with
the image:

In word, click on View, Header/Footer, Click on Insert,
Picture from file, select your graphic file, and click on
insert. Your picture should now be in the header of your
document. Right click on the picture, click on format
picture, under layout choose Behind Text, click ok. Close
the Header Toolbar. You should now be able to type text
on top of the picture and each page you add should have
the picture as the "background".

Make the ppt pres portrait and change the page size to the size of the Word
doc. Make the background, and export as a file format usable by Word for
backgrounds. Switch to Word and import the background file.

I think that's it!
