.pps error message

Joel

When I open a .pps file I get this error message...

-2147483640 Method 'Visible' of object 'CommanderBar' failed

When I click on the button the message goes away and the slide show
seems to work fine. However, how do I get rid of the message at the
beginning of the show?

Thanks.

Start PowerPoint, choose File, Open and open the file that way.
Choose Tools, Macros, and open the VB editor ... are there any macros in the
presentation?

There may not be, but that's a good first thing to check.

Next, do you have any addins installed?

There are no macros. The presentation has two text slides only...just
for an example. There are addins installed within PowerPoint, however,
they aren't being used. Thanks.

"Just for an example"?

Does this happen with all PPS files?

Does it happen when you start PPT, then use File, Open to open the PPS?

Most addins run code at PPT startup, whether or not *you* are actively using
them.

The problem only happened when I opened a .pps file that I saved. Files
I got from others opened properly. Apparently, my add-ins were causing
the problem. I deleted the add-ins and re-saved the .pps file and it
worked fine. Thanks for the help.
