Since 2003 my templates are not showing up in the right hand side bar. Found
that there are two folders with slide templates. Could that be the problem?
I can choose from the folders which is kind of a blind choice.

Do *any* templates show up in the task pane?

I don't understand what you mean by this.

If the mouse is placed in the task pane it relates a name of a template but
not all of the templates are available in that "blind" way.

If I use "Browse" the folders open and I can select a template but not
prevent it from being used as the template from previous slides in that file.

Okay, so the thumbnails for some templates are showing up in the task pane,
right? (I'm asking because we also occasionally see an issue where the slide
thumbnails don't show up in the taskpane -- they're invisible, or at least
that's the way I read *those* questions!)

Basically, you have to use a template a few times before it shows up in the
list in the taskpane. After that, it should show up in "recently used"
section of the taskpane, and sometimes below that in the "available for use"
area as well.

Thanks for your assists.
Even after using the template a few times it remains invisible. I can take
the cursor to the task pane and if I happen to place the cursor on where the
"ghost" of the template is I have the opportunity to use it because the
identifying information will show.

I will check the websites you have suggested. Thanks again.

Oh, so you are experiencing the invisible templates, then? Where the
thumbnail in the task pane doesn't actually show the template?

If you have someplace you can attach a screen shot, that would be very
helpful. (Please don't attach it here in the group, though.)
