Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Running Office 2008 on a 24" iMac with OS 10.5.8. PPT won't open. Ever. Word and Excel are OK (although they do take forever to open). Uninstalled and re-installed. Any ideas?

As you've found, 'uninstall/reinstall' of complex apps rarely changes things
on a Mac -- at least not for the better :) When an app fails to launch the
first issues to address are: (A) Updates & (B) Repair of Disk Permissions.
Since you didn't specify your current update levels of Office that's the
first place to start... Confirm that you're at 12.2.3, then run Disk Utility
- Repair Disk Permissions & see if things don't improve after a restart.

If you continue to have the problem please provide a more complete
description of how you are attempting to launch PPT & exactly what occurs
when you try. Are there any error messages? Details are important.

Then try this:

While no Office apps are running go to User/Library/Preferences & delete the
file named: com.microsoft.Powerpoint.plist

I doubt that it's a font issue since you indicated that Word launches OK ‹
that's usually the first program to balk at font conflicts.

If that doesn't correct it, is it possible that there is some sort of third
party app that could be causing the failure?
