PPT XP vx PPT 2000 MS Charts

I edited an embedded chart using PPT XP and later opened
this presentation in PPT 2000. But all of the charts were
ungrouped. Why did this happen?

I've never seen anything like this happen, and I work with more than one
version almost all the time.

When you edited the chart, how did you do it? Is there any chance someone
else got in there and ungrouped stuff?

That's what I thought happened, but I had my boss forward
me the exact email that I had sent to her.

I right clicked on the chart and edited it in MS Graph.

Wait a minute... I compressed the pictures in the file
before I sent it... would that have ungrouped the charts?

Wait... I didn't compress images in that file, sorry, I
was thinking of another file I worked on... but that is
how I edited the chart

Compressing the file could ungroup the charts, yes.

Right-clicking and choosing edit or open wouldn't ungroup the chart.
