Presenter mode movie problem

NOLOFLASH

I would like to use presenter mode so that I can view my notes. I usually
have no problem doing this.

But I have an mpeg video clip of about 2 minutes (5mb) insertet in a new ppt
and it hangs and will not allow me to continue. This only occurs in presenter
mode.

The notebook pc that I am using is a Dell Inspiron 2200 Celeron M 370
(1.50GHZ/1MB Cache/400 MHz FSB)
(DDR 512MB)

Thanks for any help that can be provided.

Hi,

I am not certain the following things will help, but some things that have
helped me when I've had mpegs hang the presentation include:

1. Make sure the mpeg is in the same directory, or where PPT expects it to
be.
2. Make sure the path to the mpeg isn't too long - I think it has to be
less than 100 or maybe less than 120 characters.
3. Try reducing hardware acceleration, if any or turn it off completely.
4. Convert the mpeg to an .avi file - it will be bigger but is more likely
to run.
5. The Cinepak Radius Codec seems to be the most compatible across ppt
platforms from what I can glean on the net.

Good Luck!
