Presenter View configuration

I have a wireless presentation aid. Not a full-fledged mouse, but it has
the ability to transmit an UP or DOWN arrow. I use this during regular
presentations (non-Presenter) to advance or reverse my presentation. But
with Presenter, UP and DOWN both advance a slide. Is there anyway to
reconfigure Presenter so that the meaning of UP and DOWN use the legacy
definitions of Forward/Reverse?

There is no way to modify the Presenter's view. Can you configure the pointing
device?

I feared as much about the config or lack thereof.

Unfortunately, the mouse is hard wired...
