prevent cells from editing by mistake

Hi

by protecting them ... in excel you need to tell it which cells you do want
people to change (select cells / choose format / cells - protection tab &
untick locked) & then you protect the rest (tools / protection / protect
sheet - works on a sheet by sheet basis)

one alternative way is to select all the cells in the sheet, do format /
cells - protection, & untick locked and then select the cells you do want
protected (format / cells - protection, tick locked) and the protect the
sheet.

sheet protection doesn't stop people deleting the worksheet itself ... for
this you need workbook protection (tools / protection / protect workbook)
