prevent image downloads

Is there a way to prevent someone from doing a right mouse click and
downloading an image from a site?

Thanks

"Yes" to your first question and "No" to your second
question.

In order for an image to be viewed, the user's browser
downloads that image from your host. Users can then
manage to save that image whether or not the right click
is disabled.

This question gets covered quite frequently on the
various Front Page newsgroups so rather than me taking
the time to cover all of the various arguements and
possible work arounds, please take some time to look
through the newsgroups.

Javascript can be used to disable the right click. The end
user though can turn that off. Even with that, once a page
is viewed the images are in the temp internet files so all
they would have to do is copy it from there. Most people
consider those javascripts as amateurish anyways. Best
practice would be to use a downgraded version of the picture
or watermark it.
