preventing changes to document

Nothing you can do will stop someone from making changes if they want. To
stop most people, convert it to a .pdf file. But remember - there are
several .pdf editors out there and some of them are inexpensive enough for
casual users. You don't need to spend a couple of hundred dollars these
days.

More people have graphics editing programs than .pdf editing programs. I
just wish people would understand that if they don't want a file edited, it
should NEVER leave their computer. And they would have to make sure that no
one else ever uses their computer.

JoAnn,

How about just using images in the pub file? Even text can be copied as an
image. At least it would make changes somewhat difficult.

Even then the system could be compromised remotely.

If you don't want a file or document edited, it shouldn't exist.

Okay - Ed and I are talking extremes. The point we're trying to make is that
there is only so much that you can do to keep a document pristine. For most
purposes, a .pdf file will suit your needs.
