Preventing Office from "Configuring" every time.

Hi,

my users are experiencing delays when using MS Office 2003 on their XP SP2
clients. Each time a new user logs in & opens MS Office, they have to wait a
minute or so while "Office Configures". I am aware that this did not used to
be the case before I introduced a new Group Policy.

Does anyone have advice on how I can prevent these "configurations"
occuring? The environment consists of students who use different machines on
a daily basis and very rarely sit at the same machine.

Thanks in advance.

I presume both suggestions are jokes. Thanks for wasting 10 minutes of my
time checking the reply.

If you read my query, you will see that the users are mobile and move around
PC's with limited or no control.

Sorry, if you want to use office, it needs to configure itself for the
individual user. The settings for each user are saved independently. The
two methods to rectify the issue were offered. Bummer about the 10
minutes. Perhaps thinking ahead would save time.

A users individual settings for Office can be saved centrally on the server.
When the user logs on, their Office profile is sought from the server to save
time configuring. I know this is possible, but came online looking for
specifics on how to acheive this, or possibly another way from someone who
knew what my issue was, and what they were talking about. Seems like my luck
was out on this occasion, so back to the books.
