Print from Word to ps script

I quite often have a number (50+) of Word 2004 docs that I need to
convert to pdf, then put them into one large document using Acrobat
7.
I usually do this by opening each document and using the Print dialog
box to "Save PDF as PostScript" option. I then use Distiller to
convert
them to pdf and then discard the ps.This seems to give me the most
consistant results.

Is there anyway to automate the part of saving the Word docs to ps,
then close the file?

I tried writing a macro, but it would stop at the print dialog and I
would still have to make the selections. The only thing the macro
does
for me is to close the file automatically.

I'm not familiar with Apple Script or Automater. Is this something
that can be done using those applications? (If so, does anyone know
how?)

I'm on a Mac G5 using OX 10.4.7 and Word 2004.

Adobe Acrobat says that Word docs are not supported, and I have found
there are problems with my files if I don't convert them to postscript
<i>before</i> I convert them to pdf. Tables are resized, images don't
display, etc. Those kinds of problems.

Hi I've Forgotten Your Name:

Sorry: The print Dialog is a Mac OS X dialog and you cannot script it from
within Word VBA. VBA has no connectors into the mechanism.

Ask one of the AppleScript experts: you may be able to use AppleScript to go
the other way: from mac OS X call Word to print the documents. If you do it
from AppleScript, you may get full control.

Cheers

Sorry, My Bad :{ - I momentarily forgot that Adobe seems to have a problem
getting Acrobat to handle this on the Mac - but for some reason it works on
the PC. Doesn't make sense to me since the Word file format is the same on
both sides.
