Print Preview and e-mailing Publisher attachments

Q

QUILL

I am a new user of Publisher and have two questions :

(1) I compile a 40-page village magazine using Publisher 2003. When I
select PRINT PREVIEW I often see images displayed which belong to different
pages. Why is this happening and what can I do to prevent it? (The document
itself prints OK)

(2) In words of one syllable, please!, how can the magazine editor and I
exchange this (upto 4.5MB) document by e-mail? Our ISPs won't allow us to
send e-mails this large.

QUILL

Many thanks for your speedy response. I'm a novice - how do I convert my
document to a .pdf file, please?

As for the print preview, if it is a booklet, many times you will see part of
other pages.

You need third party software. If you aren't going to purchase Acrobat,
PrimoPDF (www.primopdf.com) is a decent alternative.

I only ever see images appearing on the wrong pages in Print Preview, but not
always - and never text. But if this is normal that's OK with me! Thank you
v.much for your help.

With your new program installed...open your project
in Publisher and go to...File / Print.

On your Print screen...open the drop window and
select PrimoPDF as your printer.

Click...OK...now you will see the PrimoPDF screen
and you can browse to a save folder.

When you click...OK..your .pdf file will be created
in your save folder.

The resulting .pdf file can be viewed on any computer
that has the free Adobe Reader installed.

Hi John . . .
I followed your instructions step by step. It wasn't quite as
straightforward as I'd hoped but I finally managed a test run by sending the
converted (from Publisher to .pdf) file in an e-mail addressed to myself -
and it worked!

The 40-page magazine appeared as it would print; ie, double-page spread
showing page numbers, eg, 2 and 39 which makes proofreading a little
difficult for the recipient but at least it can now be attached to an e-mail.

Thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to help me.
Kind regards.
