Print Styles in Outlook 2003

Andrew

Hi there,

We're having a problem printing text mails in Outlook/Exchange 2003
setup.

If we receive an HTML formatted message, open it, click File and click
Print, we get the usual Print dialog, where in the top half of the box
we can select what printer we want, and in the bottom half we can
select the Page Range and the number of copies. We click OK and the
message prints exactly as expected.

If however we open a plain text message and click File and Print, the
dialog is different, this time asking us what Print Style we want. We
only have one choice - Memo Style - so we choose that. It then goes
on to print not just the latest email but also every other message in
the thread - sometimes 30 pages per email.

Apparently it behaves differently because the software 'widget' it
prints through is different depending on the format - if we're
printing an HTML message it uses the same mechanism as Internet
Explorer and doesn't ask us about print styles (which is what we
want), whereas if we print plain text it goes into this print style
business.

We just want to print the thing, so I gather that what we need to do
is either:

1. Have a way of easily (eg one keyboard press) convert incoming
messages to HTML, so we don't get nagged about this Print Style
business.
2. Make this 'Memo' print style, or another print style, print things
in exactly the same way that HTML messages are printed.

If anyone could advise I would be most grateful.

Many thanks,
