printer spooling

I have a 4 page newsletter that is duples printed on 11 x 17 paper. When I
spool to any printer, it spools 5 sheets at a time.

This also happens when I print postcards using the manual tray. My printer
will stop each time it completes the 5 sheets.

I can't seem to find any way to fix this. Does anyone have any ideas?

Open the printer folder in the control panel, right-click your printer, click
printing preferences, it should report one pages per sheet. If it does not
change it to one.

What model printers are you using. Seems unusual this would happen on more than
one printer.

Mary,
Thank you for your response, but I still have the problem.

I have an HP 8550 which is the only one that will print 11 x 17. I also
have HP 3700 but this is not duplex.

This problem only happens on Publisher when I'm merging names and addresses.
For example on a post card, when I print name and address, and use the
manual feed it will stop on every 5 (not six and not four). Then I have to
push a button or take the cards out and put them back in to continue. When I
print the message side, I don't have this problem on either printer.

I checked the preferences for the printers and they both say "1" page.
Help.

This is a printer issue rather than a Publisher problem. Maybe the driver needs
to be re-installed?

I went through a lot of documents at HP and Fix Your Own Printer forums and
could not find a mention of your problem.
This article addresses the spooler, tells you how to print directly to the
printer.
How to troubleshoot problems that you may experience when you try to print to a
local printer by using Office programs in Windows XP

Maybe if you un-link your data and re-link?

Thank you for spending the time trying to help. I looked at the report.
This is a network printer so I have one idea I can talk to the administrator
about. Thanks again.
