printing a handbook

I'm trying to import a word document so I can print out a handbook. I select
import word document and then change in page setup to booklet layout.
However the text is all over lapping on all the pages. I would like to print
landscape on letter paper with page 1 on the left and page 2 on the right so
I can cut the paper in half and have it bound. Any help appreciated.

Create a text box on the first page of where you want the handbook to start.
Right-click the text box, click change text, click text file, browse to the Word
document. Publisher will automatically create text boxes and pages.

Word & Publisher aren't exactly compatible. The way I explained to the poster is
my preferred method because the text boxes will be consistent all the way
through. When you import a Word document, Publisher will create a new document
and creates the text boxes to a set letter size.
