Printing Customised Greetings Cards

I use Publisher 2002 greetings cards layouts, (e.g. quarter
page side fold), to create my own cards with imported
images, clip art., messages, etc., after deleting the ones
on the layouts.
How can I ensure the images print exactly aligned on front
and back of pages, (using an ink-jet (Canon S600) printer.)?
I currently use the rectangles left onscreen after deleting
the images and texts on the sample Publisher cards, but
this doesn't seem to work & they print out misaligned: I
usually line them up by trial & error, but waste an awful
lot of ink (and card)!

To be perfectly honest, I have found that Publisher is not the best program
for greeting cards.. there are proprietary programs out there like Hallmark
Card studio or American Greetings Creata Card that do a better job..

I start with one of the provided cards and then just modify
the content. Alignment has not been an issue.

Know your printer... When you layout a quarter fold card the margin should be the
same all around. If your printer has a .5 margin limitation then the margin on your
page should be .5 all around.

Experiment with this. Select the card in page layout, arrange the margins, create a
box on each page and print. You will see it will be aligned.

Greetings,

Microsoft teamed with Hallmark a few years ago and brought out the product
called Microsoft Greetings 2000. This program works very well with Microsoft
Office's Clip Art Gallery. Also, as suggested in this thread, it provides a
basic design that can be totally modified with other clip art, digital
photos, pictures, etc.

Thanks to all for the helpful replies - I'm in process of
checking them out - I don't find Publisher to be very
user-friendly for this specific purpose: I have found Page
Plus (version 7) simpler but it has fewer features than
Publisher. I will also try Creata Card again - I have
version 'Gold 5' but haven't looked at it for ages as the
basic designs etc. are uninteresting - maybe it's more
flexible than remember. Thanks to Leer - I'll check out
Greetings 2000, but again I seem to recall it had poor
reviews on Amazon.
