Printing darker/lighter from Word 2003

Besides the 'bold' key, I don't see any means of adjusting the darkness of
black text printed from Word 2003 documents on a Dell A960 printer. The
'lighter/darker' setting on the printer control panel seems to have no effect.

You could use a heavier font.
